I am posting you to let technicians know that I am retiring from Piano Forte Supply. In recent years, some health and personal issues had reduced the energy I needed for running a busy niche supply business. After 18 years of growing and nurturing Piano Forte Supply, it is time for me to pass it on to people who can take it further than I could have done: Erwin's Piano. Dale Erwin and his family of Modesto CA are long-standing and trusted friends. It is the perfect match, I feel.

    Visit the new website: https://pianofortesupply.com/

I would like to thank all of my past and present clients for their support over the years. Every one of you contributed to my vision of establishing a supply house of unique and high quality tools and materials. And together we did just that.

One of the lasting benefits of the business are the relationships that I was able to build with colleagues. This stands out for me as there is no substitute for human connection.
And when human connection and wonderful music collide it is indeed a magical thing.

I will still be active in the piano world, with a new piano website to be launched soon. I can be contacted through my piano tuning email: jurgen@pianoforteservice.com

To quote Douglas Adams, in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: "So long, and thanks for the fish!"
    Take care, everyone!
Some of my time will be spent figuring out how to regulate obscure actions like this Ed Westermayer, patented 1882. Wish me luck.

Well done, Jurgen. I hope the health issues and so on improve. You've done a wonderful job with Piano Forte Supply, and I'm sure Dale will carry it on very well.

    And LUCK! Of course.

    Jurgen

Bravo! Job well done, my friend.  You created a unique boutique for piano supplies that many of us grew to depend upon.   Hard to find items and incredibly high level precision tools were your benchmark. And then passing the baton onto Dale Erwin's group, well that's a winner-winner, chicken dinner.

Some of my best tools that have become my long-time friends came from your supply house.  For that, thank you.

Yes, tools like that incredible pair of German grand hammer-removal pliers, which are no longer made, but I BOUGHT the pliers from you, Jurgen, never to be mislaid!

I found that a set of hammers shanks and flanges which I replaced had less wear on the Renner shanks and flanges than I had thought they'd have (given how some appalling "tech damage" had totally trashed the hammers.) So I sat down with the old hammer assemblies and the pliers and removed every hammer, in about 45 minutes. Not a single broken shank -- or hammer, for that matter. Truly amazing pliers. And my hands didn't even ache.
