What brand of piano is it because some systems are installed at the factory. You can plug the hole where the solenoid slot was or cover it with thin plywood to prevent critters from entering the action cavity. Also some pianos may have had a metal piece added to prevent flex in the keybed. As mentioned by John you may need to rebuild the trapwork and you will need to reset damper lift to the pedal and the key . If the system is working then you might offer some of the components to other technicians since power supplies and player CD units are hard to come by. Be careful if the power supply is the size of an auto battery. Once the brackets come off the weight will really throw you. I uses a scissor jack with some wood shims to support those beasts and then lower them

The damper and sostenuto trapwork levers may have been removed or modified. You will probably have to rebuild or replace the trapwork systems. Of course there will be a slot cut in the key bed that will remain.

Greetings all,
A customer would like me to remove a PianoDisc system from his grand. Removal of most of the stuff under there seems simple, but I'm wondering about the mechanics. Anything I need to consider? Can I simply unscrew that as well without worrying about any change in the regular piano functionality?
thanks!
