I'm using a single PianoDisc solenoid for my own project. What's the max amperage it can handle? 12A? I know that solenoids in original PianoDisc system is fed with 40V 12A.
For the present as I have funneled 12V 2A to my single solenoid, I'm not getting enough of dynamic range. The strongest hit is not enough powerful for forte and as I decrease the current the solenoid gets weak too soon to push a key.
7amps. There is a fuse on the power supply that feeds the solenoid rail limit of 7A.
Thanks for the answer! Have you seen anywhere in the specs the ohmage of a standard short key solenoid? My measurements shows 12.5 Ohm.
