    Hello,

Is there a directory for pneumatic player piano technicians? I have a customer in Denver, CO who would like their 1980's Universal Piano Co player working again.

John Tuttle maintains a player piano technician list (by state) on his website.

Universal players take a bit of "finesse" to rebuild due to their use of aluminum & plastic -- but once you get rid of the Perflex valve pouches, they are a very tight and responsive piano. Perflex was supposed to be a "miracle" replacement for "old Fashioned" leather pouches, however it has not proven itself as it disintegrates after a decade or so--I have leather pouches from the 1915s that are still functioning! Some of us stick to the old stuff as it is known to work!
