Thoughts appreciated. After polishing case brass work e.g. pedals etc (compound and buffing wheel) leave it 'natural' or spray a couple coats of 2 pack clear coat to prevent it oxidising again?
Thanks,
John
After buffing, clean compound residue from parts with lacquer thinner or alcohol, spray with Nikolas brass lacquer, available from Schaff.
Thanks guys for the various replies. Seems to be different opinions as to clear coating. I was thinking coating stuff other than the pedals was a no brainer. Pedals being the question in my mind as will the player's foot eventually wear through the clear coat leaving a future bigger strip and refinish job. The reason I was thinking if I did clear coat the pedals to use 2 pack automotive clear coat. Much harder than single coat, and I just happen to have plenty on hand.
