    Greetings all,
I have a customer who is asking for advice on purchasing a piano lamp for a Yamaha U1. She's texted me a couple of options:
    -Cocoweb PLED101
    -BenQ PL19-D

I also have a U1, but I don't have a lamp, so it's hard for me to advise her. My experience for lamps is limited to taking them off the piano and putting them back in place after tuning. My advice was to make sure, for a vertical, that it had enough reach, and that it was well-balanced.

Any suggestions on the above or other models?

    thanks!
    Scott

I just use a regular weighted-bottom architect desk lamp. Mine is a bit older model but works really well, very bright and easy to change (and hold) positions:

Unlike some models of piano-specific lamps, it won't damage the music desk when you take it off because it sits on the top of the piano.

LED lamps don’t put off much heat, that’s my choice

Your client might enjoy the Benq piano lamp - it's just right for a U1. The weighted base has a cut out for the central lid hinge, and it has dimmable/ warm-cool LED light settings. It's designed for the pianist and the piano. I have been very happy to look at and use this lamp on my own piano.

Here's a company I've been meaning to use that makes them for  our pipe organs. They also make
them for upright/spinets/grands, etc. They are not cheap!

    I like the LEDs.
