Hi David,
We have been using a product called TempStick for the last year and a half. Each unit retails around $140.00. It connects to your local WiFi network with no subscription fees. I started out installing them under each performance piano as well as classroom grands here at the University of Arizona after we had an extreme drop in humidity (actually hitting 0% humidity). Our building manager liked them so much that we now have 28 units monitoring rooms throughout the building. The data we have obtained convinced our Facilities Dept to begin retrofitting the air systems to provide humidity control. They completed the installation in our smaller performance hall last summer. Our Steinway B is very happy now.
I would highly recommend looking at this product. It checked all of the boxes for us.

- can be accessed remotely
- ideally want one above SB and one underneath, to track Damppchaser effect.
I know that some (like HOBO) required additional software and expense for wifi access. Do they all?
