I have a client who is looking at a Model 100.
Free he just has to move it.
The pictures and video he sent looks pretty good. His kid liked playing it. I told him to take it but that I'd check on it.
I was wondering if this year and model has any well known issues.
    Thanks for ya'lls expertise.

Watch for pinblock and back post separation issues.  May benefit from rescaling.

    Ditto...though they can be repaired...usually.

I've also seen back separation at the pinblock -

How tough is that separation to repair?
Four hours? West systems epoxy? Do clamp work or do you screw it back together with the epoxy?

This piano is very similar to the S&S 40" that  Peter Grey restrung last winter, he has a pretty detailed thread on that.

I had a model 100 c.1960. It had a wrought iron music rack and beautiful ivories that were all popping off. Similar scale problems to the 40".

No problems with the pin block.

Take a close look at the hammer return and jack springs. I’ve had to replace them in this model. They were made from very thin wire.

Use  heavy duty steel channel front and back with separate section for bass area which is elevated. Use heavy duty Bessey clamps (2800 lb)

and quality fresh epoxy. Leave clamped up for one week. Follow up with pb and other repairs.
