The music director at a church says dust accumulates when he removes the cotton cover from the Yamaha grand. Would Downy or Bounce help with static cling, and would they damage the finish?

    Thanks,

I would advise against using those.  Here's why- if the finish is polyester, they will make it look cloudy or streaked. But it won't damage the polyester.  If the finish is lacquer, they might.  I am guessing the finish is high gloss, so I would recommend using Cory High Gloss polish, or any Meguiars Plastic products which are anti static.

    Mr. Eumurian,

I have had good success using dry swiffer mop refill sheets. They work well on poly and lacquer finishes and don't have any chemical additives that I'm aware of. Just be sure to get the dry version not the wet ones.
