    Does anyone know about Steinway Harmonic Damper Setting?HARMONIC DAMPER SETTING

    innovative and globally unique technology which has been developed for the Steinway & Sons concert grand. This exclusive, revolutionary invention offers pianists new opportunities for expression and individuality with the damper pedal by reducing damper noise, thus enabling a

    totally new, substantial differentiated pedalling for highest artistic performance on

    stage.

    Is the new function of the piano a new mechanical structure or a change in the data of the traditional design? Does anyone have photos?

    Hello Zhanxi,

    This is a setting offered by the Hamburg factory where the dampers are regulated to favor optimal performance over optimal cosmetic lift, though it is only done by special request.  What it achieves is very precise control over the muting of the strings.

    While the marketing language makes it sound like this is a new mechanical structure, the reality is that the dampers are regulated slightly differently.
