I was making the low end of that salary range 15 years ago at the University of Nebraska. And I had a great benefits package, too.
Buying new Steinways take big bucks these days, but I guess maintaining them doesn't. You'd think Steinway would know better.
As long as I've been in piano service I've been told its a dying art. If Steinway's attitude and PTG's member recruitment is any indication, dying may the operative word.
I like their "seniority level" title, though. Catchy. Hmmmm.
