  • 1.  Upright Action Bolts.. odd size

I have a client with an Emerson S8 upright piano missing one action bracket bolt. I have a spare parts kit full of action bracket bolts and none of them fit this piano!

This particular piano is more than 100 years old with rocker type capstans.

My spare parts bolts consist of two sizes, one larger than the other but even the larger ones are just a tad too small for the threads on this action.

I don't know how to measure the size of the bolt to communicate that to you but I can say, of the two most common action bracket bolt sizes, this Emerson needs one just a tad bit bigger.

I'm looking for help to find a replacement bracket bolt for this piano.

    Thanks all!

    Sean

Do you have a caliper to measure the dimensions?

Which bolt is this exactly? The one that screws into the plate? Wood or machine?

Can we reasonably expect to buy odd-ball replacement parts for anything that was built 100 years ago?
I suggest to plug the original hole, re-drill for the bracket you have.
