I replaced the action brackets on a Weber WG-60 using Supply 88 brackets which are great to work with. However I have no idea what was done on this piano before but the letoff buttons where turned down and the drop screws had various heights. The middle section is giving me a migrane and even though I have done many expanding action bracket jobs this one is a nightmare. The bass end and high treble seem to be working okay for the most part but many of the jacks are not escaping in the middle.
Going back today and thinking I need to experiment on some samples and remove some front key punchings, adjust the jack position, recheck spread, check center pinning friction or lack of it, rep springs , key dip, alignment of jack to knuckle core. I set the action spread to 113.5 but maybe need to check it more closely at all of the breaks. I am also wondering if the rep lever pinning is to loose causing the jacks to get stuck ? I noted that the impression made by the drop screw is close to the front of the whippen buckskin. Maybe the spread need to be set to 112 or 112.5 ? Starting dip = 10.2 mm ?
