I looked at a model B today.  The serial # was illegible.  There was no serial # on the key slip, end blocks, or keyframe ( I didn't have time to remove the lyre or a leg).  What I can say is that it had Teflon bushings which puts it at post 1962 and the key tops had be replaced which leads me to believe it originally had ivory tops. Does anyone know what was the last year NY Steinway put ivory on their grand pianos?  I've heard from two sources it was 1964.

When I was working at a Steinway dealer in 1989 it could be ordered as a option.

    It cost $6000.00 I recall
