Hello again!  Trying different ways to get the pic of these grommets here for you to see.  I have not contacted Yamaha yet.  Had not seen these before, seem to work really well and nice to adjust, but are drying out.

Maybe somebody has some sitting around?!

    Merry Christmas!

    Andrew,

If you run into a dead end, you might try something like this I recently stumbled across:

Simple Green or wintergreen oil.  Probably have to remove them all for a soak but if they are essentially "unobtainium", it may be the only alternative.

The picture came through, thanks for that.  It looks like you might be able to find some regular grommets, like in the supply catalogs, and stack them, or add some fiber washers underneath.  If the hole in the washers is too small to fit over the capstan, cut them as you would when inserting a balance rail shim.

They may not even be a piano part however rather than beat the issue to death call Yamaha Parts and give them serial number, model number. You would be surprised with the parts they have found me like full set of pedals that matched those on an older console, short lyre for a Yamaha G2, hinges, pedal grommets. I have seen something like these maybe at a "real " hardware store. I was looking for some odd size screws and went to a hardware store that had bins and bins loaded with things from back in the day. The hardware store guy had to blow the dust off the boxes but they had what I needed. Its all about "the thrill of the hunt"
