  • 1.  Yamaha stringing scale

    Hi all,

     

    We have a Yamaha C7 in a practice room and the plate doesn't have string gages printed on the plate like our Steinways and Baldwins.

    Does anyone have a stringing scale for this?  It's about 25 years old.

    Yamaha or Schaff may have what you need. Are you restringing it with new bass strings ? I had luck with James Arledge on a Chas M Stieff. After I had already measured and did a string tracing on the bass strings and started reading the numbers to him for wrapping, distance to hitch pin, length etc we discovered he already had the scale. You can quickly mic the plain strings to find the start and stop gauges for each section

    I really only need now the size for G6 and G#6.  I would like the whole thing as we may need to restring the whole thing soon. Somebody broke the strings and took them out without telling me!! I don't know where the size changes happen on a C7

    Wire gage numbers are inked on the bridge (metric).
