this is for adjusting the damper lifter spoons on pianos that have a player installed. It reaches over the tops of the plungers and is adjustable so that the capstan of the gauge just barely touches the underside of the lifter spoon. The tool can be turned over and the capstan reinstalled in the other direction to accommodate additional dimensions.
