High Treble Octave Demonstration

09-13-2015 17:31

In this demonstration I am showing the difference between the sound of a single octave and a double octave. The note chosen is F7. On my 1912 Steinway model O, this is the lowest note that has an undamped octave below it. In other words, F6 is the first undamped note on this piano. I am attempting to show that when F7 is tuned as a single octave it sounds cleaner and the single note rings out clearer and with better sustain.
