Yes, those are made by Will Leverett, formerly of the Denver Chapter, now a member of the Dallas Chapter, I believe. The tool is indeed for installing understrung strings on grands. I suppose it could work on verticals also. You first measure out the replacement string, make your hitchpin bend, and thread the ends of the string "loop" into the two tubes. Slide the jig holding the string under the bass strings, and hook the hitchpin loop over the hitchpin; attach a Vise-Grips or hemostat to the hitchpin to prevent its coming off. Now pull the jig off the replacement string, keeping the wires separated with one hand while threading the ends through the agraffes with the other. Lastly, pre-wind the tuning pin coils and finish the installation.

Soundboard ( under string) cleaner. Attach cloth to slot and slide between strings and board. Today's method I attach a swiffer duster cover onto the end. Best, Gerry C

Are those small tubes running along the sides of the rectangular block? If so, it could be a tool to help guide new strings under the overstringing of a piano.
