Hello,I’m working on a 1920 S&S model M. I’d like to replace the action cloth that serves as a bushing for the sostenuto rod in the sostenuto bracket. There are for brackets that support the rod. Instead of being glued, the bushings are held in place by a thin wire that is wrapped around the bracket. It looks like the wire is inserted through the side of the action cloth so that it doesn’t come in contact with the the rod.
Ive never replaced these before and wonder if anybody has advice on how to proceed. Is it normal bushing cloth or is it made to be thicker near the center so that there is room for the wire to go thru the side?
