Here are more Workshop photos of the Dulcitone in bits! These latest photos are centred on Keys, Hammer assemblies and their relation to each other - i.e. how they work together in this strange keyboard.

Keys on workbench in process of being cleaned and put in keyframe. Note the long 'L' shaped spring steel 'Jack'. These keys are very short, terminating just the tail side of the balance chaser. There is a 'spring assist' seen later:

Here we see the front of the keyframe and under the front rail are the spring-assisted hammer butts. The strong helical spring is captive in both Butt and front rail

The red felts seen below the sharp key fronts are attached to the hammer butt and are the notch - actuated by the long 'L' shaped 'Jack' attached to the key

The relative position of the key and hammer assembly. Notice the spring dangling from the key tail which is pinned to the balance rail. This is a substitute for the truncated portion of the key tail.

The relative position of the front of the key and hammer butt. The heavy helical spring locates in the hammer butt and the underside of the front rail. Its purpose is to help return the hammer to playing position
