I have been tossing this around in my mind concerning these 8 areas Bradley mentioned concerning Steinway flanges and his approach. Here is what I have deduced. See image. The orange arrows either reflect the areas to travel, and the red arrows reflect the areas to space, or vice versa. Can't quite get it straight in my mind still as to which is which, but it's a beginning to understand at least the 8 areas. that being, 4 areas each side of the flange = 8 separate areas. #2015
