This is my version of a string loop machine! Very portable and very simple to make. I really enjoyed the video of that magnificent machinery for restringing but wondered how to get the machine to the piano. This is basically a block of old hardwood I happened to have around some thirty+ years ago which I adapted with some staggered driven-in c/s screws, a sawn-off headed screw with a shank slightly larger in diameter than the hitch pin and a book-holder just to control the loose end of the string. I hope it makes sense! To finish off the loop you just need the usual flat-nosed pliers and string cutters. Michael (UK)
