Apologies in advance for the incorrect nomenclature.

    Issues (in order of importance):

    1. When I run player diognostics, it says player engine failure and I should make sure all cables are connected. I checked, and they appear connected and all in decent shape. Could this be a power issue going to the computer boards (there are 5-6 smaller power wires coming from the box)? Could this be a circuit issue from being really old, even though the circuits look like they are in good shape (meaning no corrosion)?
    2. Even when a floppy disk is inserted it tells me to insert disk. Not a huge issue because I want to play using MIDI, but could this be related to the player diagnostic problem? I would have thought the player would say unreadable disk if, for example, the 3 disks I have were not readable. Maybe the same error comes up for a non-readable disk as it does for a circuit issue?
    3. Looking for a manual. Contacted the company but they do not have one. They were even nice enough to call three separate technicians but they did not have one, either.

    Other Questions:
    1. Is the PDS-1000 main unit replaceable with the PDS-128 or PDS 128 plus?
    2. IS the PDS-1000 power box replaceable with the PDS-128 power box?

Does anyone have links to parts and / or information for the PDS-1000?

    Thank you!

    Jon,
This model has exceeded it's usefulness. I had many problems diagnosing electro/mechanical issues back in the 90's and early 2000's. The main problem was usually the power supply board in the control box. It is located on the forward and topside or the cover.  Above it were the vent holes where it spelled heat from the board. If you've ever taken a control box off the piano and noticed the amount of dust in the top it was this problem that killed the power board. Your lucky to get any response. Below is a web site that sells used and rebuilt Pianodisc parts.  I doubt that they have any parts for a PDS-1000 but worth a try. He might have some technical information as well. Good Luck.
