    Hello all,

    I had asked about getting into piano manufacturing 2 years ago and now thought I'd pose this question:

    How does one get into selling pianos? Either with a dealer or independently. Any salespeople on here with experience have any insight?

    Coburn. Do you want to open a retail store and floor plan 10-20 new pianos and sell used ones? Or do you just want to sell one or two used pianos out of your living room or shop? Makes a big difference on how to proceed.

    Here's what I'm currently doing. I work with the local piano store. They are well established here and an honorable company. Due to the economic impacts of the pandemic, they're having a hard time getting regular inventory. I'm trying to find used pianos that need a little TLC, fix them up, and sell them on consignment at the store. The store is happy because they get inventory; I'm happy because I get to sell pianos without having to run a store or compete with the already established store. And we both get paid. Win-win.
