Mason & Hamlin was Nicky's favourite piano. He owned one that was made in the 1920s. We're holding a screening of The Session Man (it's the US launch of the film) in New York on 25th Sept, and to cover the costs of this, we're seeking sponsorship from appropriate and related companies such as piano manufacturers, piano retailers, music colleges (since Nicky won a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in the late 1950s) and manufacturers of audio equipment such as headphones and amplifiers.
I have tried to contact Mason & Hamlin but have received no reply. Do you happen to know anyone who works there? We need $30,000 in total but something like six companies each contributing $5,000 would be ideal.
Sponsors would have their TV ads played before the film starts, their logos would appear on the step and repeat, and they would be mentioned prominently in press releases and on our social media (@thenickyhopkins). They could also have their products displayed in the foyer of the cinema, if practical.
Steinway NYC told me they have no budget for sponsorship and Yamaha say they need 18 months notice for any kind of sponsorship deal. If you can put me in touch with Mason & Hamlin or if you can think of a company that might want to be associated with The Session Man and to sponsor our screening, please let me know - I'd be very grateful!
