    Good Morning,

So I am working on a 70 year old Baldwin Hamilton.  Someone has replaced the hammers and the shank..looks like in the 80s-90s, but neglected to perform any sort of regulation.  In strengthening the rep spring, I am guessing that I just need to turn the screw on the top here clockwise a bit?

    Thank you

Yes, but the springs might be weak, and you can only turn the screws in so far. Try a couple, and if that's not doing the job, you will need to remove each wippen and manually tighten each spring a little. I can't remember exactly how that's done, but I think if you look at it, you'll be able to figure it out.

The springs are a bit weak, but are responding to my tightening them a bit.  I am feeling a very slight bump, but this is much better than what was there previously...which was nothing at all.  Thanks Wim

You might also try a little lubricant on the coil or possibly other contact points.
