After moving my rebuilding shop from a friend's machine shop with awesome equipment to my new small shop, I had to quite some tools which are mostly inferior to his state-of-the-art equipment in the machine shop. I have an old Rockwell 14" bandsaw, 3/4 HP. After cutting the last pinblock, I quickly realized this is not my best long-term solution- not enough power, it took forever to cut through.
I am wondering if trying to find a larger motor would be worthwhile for this unit, or if I really should consider getting a more heavy duty saw? I like the size of this model since space is limited. Any thoughts on HP for this application, motor replacement, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
