I'm wanting to learn how to tune and fix pianos and am looking for guidance on how to get started.
I've looked into The Randy Potter School of Piano Technology but can't tell if it is still active.

You should try to contact a PTG Chapter in your area since there may be a school or course in your city/state or someone who can mentor you. The North Bennet Street School in Boston is a full time program that can prepare you well but it requires relocation and tuition that may be difficult to come up with. It is a rewarding career to pursue but there is a learning curve as well as lifetime commitment to constant learning and improvement. Perhaps you can shadow someone to see what a technician does. There is almost no such thing as a typical day which is one of the great challenges and rewards of the job. In many ways we are like EMTs never knowing what the next piano will need

    Charlotte.

The Randi Potter School is inactive.

If you want to follow a correspondence course, you should take the Rick Butler School of Piano Technology. https://www.thebutlerschool.org

If you have the time, the best in person school you should attend is the North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA. NBSS.edu/piano.
