This 1990 Kawai BS-10 upright was modified some years ago by some unknown previous technician. He/she replaced the hammers with Bosendorfer hammers and removed both the soft pedal trapwork dowel and the entire muffler rail, for reasons unknown. Now the piano is too bright, and the owner would like the muffler rail reinstalled, so I need to procure one from Kawai. The last contact I had with Kawai parts was Deborah Baker, but apparently she is no longer there. Can anyone point me to a Kawai parts person who can help?

Ha Ha  I have the same need for a Yamaha M series. None of the parts where in the piano except for the small bolt with a hole that the spring is attached to and a bent piece of the rod that connects to the middle pedal. I will call Yamaha parts dept on Monday but it would be usefull to know who handles Kawai parts

800-421-2177. It is automated, so you can select parts from the menu.
