Individual key duplication or a section of keys due to breakage or loss
Keytop replacement for naturals: mineral plastics and acrylic plastics in pure white, ivory, and cream colors, bone, and exotic wood species
Keytop replacement for naturals: reverse colored keyboard (black naturals, white sharps) we also stock red, yellow, blue, gray, brown, kaliedoscopic, and diamond
Keytop replacement for the sharps: genuine ebony sharps, plastic sharps, and other exotic wood species
Original keytop restoration: cleaning, regluing, resurfacing, and buffing of original ivory and ebony keys.
Bushings: rebushing of front and balance rails in cloth or leather
Pins: key pin replacement for the front and balance rails in plated steel or anodized aluminum
Buttons: individual or entire set of buttons replaced. Custom longer buttons to strengthen flexible keys, and custom reinforcement plates underneath the buttons
Mortises: individual or entire set of mortises replaced for the naturals or sharps
Balance holes: individual or entire set of balance holes replaced
Key shoes: individual or entire set of key shoes replaced
Keystick repairs: the build up of tops, sides, and fronts to compensate for wear, over-trimming, and poor spacing. We use species correct wood and grain pattern
Keylead plugging: plugging of individual leads or custom inserts spanning several lead holes. We use species correct wood and grain pattern
Capstan replacement and relocation: remove, drill, plug, and relocate if needed, original capstans or replace with new brass or anodized aluminum capstans
Felt and cloth replacement: for keysticks and keyframes, damper lift felt, single and multi-layer backrail cloth, and punchings
Backchecks: removal and replacement of old backchecks. Recovering of original backchecks in synthetic leather and replacement of backcheck underfelt
Steinway & Sons action rail replacement: Hammer, wippen, or let-off rail duplication and replacement. Original location or client specified action spread
