​Unequal temperament is really vital: electronic keyboards can do most of what equal temperament tuners do and as a result of upcoming students learning the piano learning on keyboards rather than real instruments, everyone who sticks to equal temperament in private practice or in music colleges will be redundant before long, as will the acoustic instrument makers.

As demonstrated in the UK to the PTA by Adolfo Barabino, unequal temperament enables him as a performer to reach music that others cannot reach - and in order to keep music alive, it really is necessary to master unequal temperament and to present it as preferred to clients. It's our clients who are at the sharp end of presenting music to audiences and that music has to reach the heart for audiences to become passionate about coming to concerts to support musicians . . . and to support us as behind the scenes professionals.

Recently at Hammerwood Park in the UK we had an outstanding violinist from Spain and who picked up on how to tune his violin in perfect fifths in conflict with Kirnberger III tuning where the A is in the midst of the series of stronger tempered fifths. He found that tuning to the D and then his violin in perfect fifths was successful.

With orchestra the piano is _exactly_ in tune with the orchestra and https://youtu.be/QBdaTX2qUxo was an experimental concert in Greece a couple of months ago.
