Mark, just a reminder that brass is soft. Be sure to use a drill with the left-handed drill bit that has an adjustable clutch. If it does not, be sure to slightly dull the tip of the drill bit before using it (standard practice with brass). Regards, Norman.

A left hand drill bit should pop the agraffe stem out with no problem. Just be sure to center the drill carefully and it should leave a clean set of threads.
Try a 1/8" bit (available at most hardware stores).

Subject: Request thread size for a new M&H A agraffe
Hi folks,
Thanks for being available and so willing to help out.
Quite unusual, but an agraffe popped off on a newly purchased 2023 Mason & Hamlin A. If I was more prepared for all contingencies, I would already have all taps, etc. in a repair kit, but I don't.
Can someone tell me what tap I should take with me just in case I need to chase the threads? (Yes, I've requested this info from M&H, but it seems that they are quite busy these days.)
Thanks for your help.
