Can the discussion on sensor use be moved to its own thread so that PianotTech thread has general posts ?

James, your suggestion has a great deal of merit. Can we come up with an appropriate title for a new discussion group that is not "product specific" (i.e., a group for "PianoSens" was up briefly before the list administration deemed it "too commercial"). In the past there's been "higher math" discussion of voicing and spectral analysis that has "gone over the heads" of many of us.

In the short run we can voluntarily move our discussion to the under-subscribed "Electronic Tuning Devices" community that was created in the past month or two.

    Patrick,

Now 'others' are starting threads on the sensor, not me! They want to know more. I am not instigating it as you can see from Loren's posting on Psycho-Acoustics. Look at my reply at the bottom of the thread.

The entire discussion on test and measurement of the piano is the heart of the issue, and EVERYONE on Pianotech cares about that subject. See my point? Thanks.

    Best,

    Steve

    Patrick --

I think there are already too many item specific discussion groups here. The one place we all navigate to, regularly, is this one. Pianotech. I think that everything that has to do with how we work, how we take better care of our health, questions about insurance, finance management, customer service, etc., all should be welcome in the Pianotech group. Without going out of my way to investigate those other groups, to see if there might be a small chance that there is anything going on, I would have no idea that a discussion I am interested in may already be in progress. And most of us here do not visit those other groups so those discussions on them tend to be less valuable than if they were held in this group. The Pianotech group should be open to all subjects that concern both technical and non-technical subjects. If Mr. Norsworthy had started his campaign in any other group he would not have attracted the attention he is getting. If someone does not want to waste time on a particular subject within this group all they have to do is ignore it.
