There will also be hands-on training for upright action regulation and repairs, and RPT exams and preps sessions.

Yes it's an "old idea" that eventually faded away (partially due to logistics). I remember Bob Russell Senior offering me the same "deal" at a Cleveland Ohio conference (including a follow-up phone call a few weeks later)! That was in 1978, a year after I attended Robert Perkins' school on the west side of Cleveland. I wasn't "brave enough" then, but did (test and)  join the Boston Chapter a year later.
