There have been some significant updates to PiaTune for iOS. I've been beta testing and the developer (Hakki) has been responsive to trying many new ideas.

This update has turned out to be a big improvement in tuning tough scales without any extra effort from the technician for better sounding pianos for the client. Spinets, short grands, most Baldwin uprights... Differences to better pianos are more subtle, but still appreciated.

The combination of more accurate inharmonicity data, adjustments to both the wand and how the display works have made tuning these so much more satisfying.

Tuning these difficult scales have always been something that I'd hoped ETD developers could address with all of the data collected. Hakki has been so responsive to all of the random suggestions I've made to try to come up with improvements (thanks!). Some worked, some didn't during the beta testing... as expected.

Hopefully more techs can give this a try and report back.

Yes, Piatune is my primary ETD and the last update was a game changer for small pianos. I've especially noticed much better tuning accuracy in the bass.

The only downside is it takes longer to measure inharmonicity, but the results make it worth it in the end.
