Krishnaswami S.G. Blair ("Kris", they/them) is a Registered Piano Technician servicing Rhode Island, Eastern Connecticut, Southern and Central Massachusetts piano owners. Kris has been working in the industry since 2013 and has received certificates in Basic and Advanced Piano Technology from the North Bennet Street Industrial School in Boston, MA. They grew up playing classical piano with some jazz study. Kris has serviced pianos for Boston University Tanglewood Institute, as well as Trinity Repertory Theater in Providence, RI, and American Repertory Theater in Boston, MA. They have been employed at both the Harvard University Piano Shop and Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, MI. During the final year at North Bennet Street School, Kris and Ben Webster collaborated on rebuilding a 1908 Steinway & Sons Model O Grand Piano. Experience in working with dealerships, institutions, Newport Jazz/Folk festivals since 2015, and private customers alike and continually investing in their skills makes Kris a confident and reliable piano technician. One of their favorite aspects of the work is getting to know the diverse clients they serve. Kris loves to play piano, improvise original compositions in their free time and enjoys a wide variety of music.
