I've heard it called the Woods and Brooks 90 degree action. One can remove it and leave the damper system in place if I remember correctly.

I believe there are two different versions of what I call a "pusher action". I think one was made by Woods and Brooks and the other version was by Pratt-Read. I have seen them in Everett consoles. I think it is an interesting approach to making a high performance vertical action that was never implemented properly. Especially the fact they put them in too small pianos. They would work much better proportioned for a 45" vertical I think.
