Hello! I'm new to piano tuning and currently just work on my own piano. The F# above middle C will not produce sound. I saw a piece of spring broken but can't find the break. It doesn't compress like the other keys.

Is it the spring I need to replace?

Any help would be great. I want to help others with their pianos around me so I'm becoming a piano tuner.

It sounds like the jack spring is broken.  You'll need to remove the old one and put a new in place. Tell us if oyu need help with that procedure.

    Hi Jennifer,

It's a wonderful profession and I hope you are enjoying the journey as much as I have been! I'm sure Wim is correct, but also please feel free to share a photo, which may help us identify the issue.
